1. What is the Partnership for America?
The Partnership for America is a non-profit organization formed by a broad-based alliance of industry, small business, agriculture, property rights advocates, conservation advocates, education proponents, consumers, multiple use proponents, economic development officials, recreation advocates and grassroots groups across the nation. The members of the Partnership support public policies that seek to restore a common sense, balanced approach to economic growth and environmental conservation in the West.
2. Why did the Partnership form?
Members of the Partnership formed this alliance because they want to give the vast majority of the citizens of the West an easy way to get involved in the development of public policy and to actively support laws and regulations that promote economic growth, job creation, increased prosperity, greater access to public lands, and less government regulation.
3. Who belongs to the Partnership?
The Partnership includes more than 600 companies, associations, coalitions and individuals who collectively employ or represent more than one million people across America.
4. What issues do Partnership members agree upon?
Members of the Partnership have come together to support public policies in the following six key areas:
- Continued Multiple Use of Public Lands
-- Issues such as increased public access to public lands for responsible energy development,
agricultural use, recreational access, responsible forest management, and others.
- Common Sense Regulatory Reform -- Issues such as promoting
states' rights, NEPA reform, Clean Air Act reform and others
- Environmentally Sound Energy Development -- Issues such as energy
supply, energy infrastructure, improved split estate relations and others.
- Effective Management of Water Resources -- Issues related to water
quantity, quality and conservation initiatives and others.
- More Jobs and Economic Prosperity -- Issues related to job creating
development, taxes, manufacturing and commerce, business profitability,
productivity issues and others.
- Smarter Conservation -- Issues related to making the Endangered Species Act work better, promoting energy conservation, proper forest management and others.

6. Who controls the Partnership?
The Partnership is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of representatives from a more than 20 different sectors. One individual serves on the Board from each of the following sectors: agriculture, coal, timber/wood products, small businesses, land & water conservation, investor-owned utilities, public utilities, natural gas utilities, hard rock mining, oil & gas, transportation/construction, manufacturing, property rights advocates, financial services, recreational access advocates, state and local elected officials, grassroots advocates, economic development officials, sportsmen/hunting, labor unions, and multiple use advocates.
7. How is it funded?
The Partnership is financed entirely by contributions from its members and supporters.
